How To Nail Your Niche So You Can Make More Money

You’ve probably heard that having a niche is pretty dang important to the success of your e-commerce store but has anyone really explained to you why & how you can find it?

A niche is simple a focused area of a broader market that businesses can serve to differentiate themselves from the competition. Business owners should find a niche in their industry that has unmet needs AKA not a lot of people are doing.

When you narrow down your niche, you are able to:

  1. Get more followers
  2. Make more sales
  3. Be the go-to brand in that industry

Let’s say you want to sell t-shirts. Instead of just selling t-shirts, be more specific and really narrow down what you sell and to who. Try focusing on something like this: t-shirts for moms who loves to run or t-shirts for dog lovers who own pugs.

How to find your niche:

Ask yourself: what are you truly passionate about? What can you create all day, every day that won’t feel like work? What is missing in the marketplace that people have a need for?

Don’t rush this part. Sometimes we know exactly what we want to do and what we are passionate about and sometimes it takes a little soul searching. For me personally, It wasn’t what I was passionate about. It was more about what I thought was needed in the marketplace.

Back to niche… I know what you are thinking… “but Andrea, if I niche down too much then i’m going to be leaving money on the table.” Or “I have many passions and want to create all the shirts.” Well sister, i’m here to tell you from experience that in order to be successful you need to pick something especially when you are first starting out.

Selling t-shirts is a VERY saturated market. You want to stand out as much as possible & selling everything is not going to get you the success you are after.
